Walking tours of melbourne
I perform tours on stolen Boonwurrung and Woiwurrung land. Sovereignty was never ceded. I'll tell you about it on the tour.
This tour will teach you a lot about Melbourne, for visitors and locals alike. I'll guide you through Melbourne's history, laneways, street art culture, architecture, and the political decisions that shaped it into what it is today. Along the way I'll point out the best cafes, bars, and restaurants to visit, and which ones steal the wages of their staff. I'll fill you in on all the best festivals, theatre, and comedy gigs that are happening too.
I recommend you book at the start of your visit to Melbourne to help you get the most out of your stay.
Locals will also enjoy this tour - you'll be surprised at how little you've questioned your city.

Blonde Matthew was fun, knowledgeable, interesting, approachable, and camp. Would 100% recommend this guide for any newcomers to Melbourne.
Wes Grey. Sydney, Australia
I've grown up in Melbourne and thought I knew a lot about this spectacular city. How is there so much I didn't know? Right from the first stop, the State Library of Victoria, I realised how little I know about my own home town. Thank you so much Matt for such an enthralling and educational tour. I can't wait to share all my new facts with friends and family. The coffee break halfway was also a great touch.
If you want to get the most out of your visit to Melbourne (or impress locals with random facts), do this tour!!
Heather Maginn. Melbourne, Australia
I am so very glad that I chose to tour with Matthew instead of one of the free options. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable and entertaining. I got to see many Melbourne landmarks and several off-the-beaten-path stops. I immediately recommended Matthew to my coworker and am recommending him to you.
Mike Chang. Austin, Texas
Blonde Matthew's tour was fantastic. Such a great introduction to the city of Melbourne! He knows so much about the history, as well as all the secret bars, parks, comedy, theatre, sport etc. He gave us great tips about where to go and what to do while we were here and gave us an amazing photograph opportunity at the end - you will not be disappointed!
Mawrgan Shaw. Toronto, Canada
Melbourne is known for its culture, this inner-city suburb is overflowing with it. It has the glossy things you see from tourism campaigns like live music, street art, cafes, comedy, and nightlife. But it also has a fascinating history. I'll teach you about colonization, communist gatherings, immigration waves, and how it became colloquially known as the People's Republic of Brunswick.
This tour is written with locals in mind, but visitors will enjoy seeing Brunswick's art, and iconic architecture.

I'm a tour guide with over 7 years' experience in the industry. I started working at the Melbourne Aquarium back in 2013. I moved to the city centre and became a tour guide in 2015, and started my own walking tour in 2017. I've performed in Melbourne's live comedy scene, worked public holidays pouring latte art, vandalized its laneways, and marched in its protests. Whilst I love the city, I'm not unctuous. I'll point out its flaws so you can stir up pretentious locals, but I'll also highlight all the best parts of Melbourne to help you get the most out of your time here, and love it like I do.
For small group tours, I can customize a tour to emphasize your interests. If you have a special request, send me a message, and I'll get back to you soon.
